The inaugural Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc airport runway run was held October 1st 2016. The crack of dawn dad and I went to the former airport site and there started the adventure. Seeing running friends always eases a mind, this run was different. It was a party from start to finish, all in support of our local United Way. The marketing manager for the airport is a runner and did an amazing job from start to finish to foster a sense of community, we were 225 runners/walkers strong that raised $7085. That was from entry fees and raffle for a west jet trip for 2 anywhere they fly.
Take off (start)
Awesome news my friend Mary-Beth was the lead female. The entire race she looked strong, I was at the back of pack & I saw her out & back. After the race was a prize draw. Both the lead female & male were given a Running Room gift card & then both won a random draw for another one.
I had a blast from take off to arrival, an adventure & dream come true I ran on a runway!
